Charting The Interest Rate Breakout

Is the bearish trend about to end for US 10-year interest rates?

Saxo Bank's technical analyst Kim Larsson says since the mid-1980s it has been trading in a falling trend channel  -  the longest period on record.
Over the past eight years, it has ranged in the middle of the channel with the swings becoming smaller and smaller.

And now recent patterns signal a bottom to this trend.  A conservative move after a break-out could see at least 2.50 percentage points.
That will most likely take the 10-year interest rate to test the top trend line in the falling channel at about 3 percent to 3.5 percent.
