The US economy is officially in recovery, however the US unemployment figure announced this early December was a shock to the country’s road to recovery.
The widely expected figure of 150,000 new jobs fell way short with the official figures coming in at 39,000. And in a timely broadcast 60minutes interview US Fed chairman Ben Bernanke, appeared defending his QE strategy, and recovery being spoken of in terms of years rather than months.
But if we have a look under the bonnet of the US economy, industrial data shows there is still hope for a steady recovery, and now with Obama extending the Bush tax cuts, what is journey of recovery looking like for the US?
