FX focus: What GBP, EUR and AUD are up to this week

This week, London-based FX expert Kathleen Brooks, is focusing on three currencies; sterling, the euro and the aussie. She explains that sterling has had a "better start this week", but adds that considering most of the focus is on the euro and the dollar at the moment, sterling is regarded as the "wallflower of FX". 

When it comes to the euro, Kathleen says it will either be "made or broken" depending on what happens to data coming out of Germany. The euro has been hit hard because of german growth fears, and Kathleen thinks we could even see life below 1.25 for the euro this week. 

Finally, Kathleen explains that last week wasn't a good week for the Aussie, seen as it was sold "so sharply". However, recent Chinese data - which came in better than expected - has given aussie  a bit of a lifeline. Yearly Chinese Exports were expected to rise to 12.0% having hit 9.4% previously, but the actual result showed a healthy boost to 15.3%.
