Garnry: The ECB's gift to equity markets

Whether it's the Dax or the S&P 500, equity markets continue to hit record highs and even though the party may be over, equities are still "the best place to be", according to Saxo Bank's Head of Equity Strategy, Peter Garnry. Given the accommodative policies from central banks, notably expectations from the ECB, the conditions are still right, he says, for sizable increases over the coming months.
Peter fully expects the European Central Bank to cut deposit rates at its next meeting in June. He's also looking ahead and expects more measures, such as new, long term "LTRO"s, where the ECB provides finance to banks in the eurozone. He also says there could be new collateral rules which could encourage growth.
